Book Jacket
For this project, the aim was to re-design the book cover of one of my favorite books, Tuesdays with Morrie, while preserving the sentiment of the original. First, I designed the primary graphic for the book by representing the two main characters through two chairs: one chair embodying the old, wise character of Morrie and one chair embodying the younger, curious character of Mitch. The graphic was created in Adobe Illustrator, creating silhouettes of the chairs. My color scheme is similar to the original, capturing the warm, intimate nature of the book’s plot. I chose the rounded font to hint at the friendly nature between the two characters. In the end, the book jacket is informative, representational, and subtly suggests the tone of the story.

Logo & identity system

The Brief:
Industry: construction
The Company: Bold Box Handy is a construction and handyman service that emphasizes quality work. The company revolves around accountable yet affordable work. Their brand demonstrates their economical, friendly, and reliable qualities as a company.
Color Inspiration: greens, blue-greens, blues
Motto: “a different kind of handyman business”
Design Style: economical, literal, mature
Design Goal: a logo that can be on business cards, web, T-shirts, uniforms, hats, etc.

The Process:
Bold Box Handy needed a professional brand identity that balanced an affordable price point with a reputation for being clean, on-time, and accountable. As designer, I achieved this by simplifying representational imagery into a solid, scalable logo and incorporating a gritty concrete texture to honor the brand’s hands-on, blue-collar roots. By pairing strong, dependable typography with custom icons like a handshake, I ensured the brand felt both professional and friendly. The final result is a versatile, mature identity that communicates reliability across everything from stationary to employee uniforms.
